Q: What is the age limit for entry?
A: Crash Festival is open to everyone, and will have attractions to suit all ages. However, under 16's must be accompanied by a paying adult and we will be checking ID on entry and will of course be operating a Challenge 21 system at the bar.
Q: What is Challenge 21?
A: Challenge 21 is operated in most places where proof of age is required. If you look under 21 we will require you to prove you are 18.
Q: Newtown & Welshpool Behave or be Banned scheme.
A: Newtown & Welshpool BOBB (Behave or be Banned) Scheme List applies to CRASH Festival. Anyone on the list attempting entry will be refused, and is subject to extension of currant ban.
Q: How much are tickets?
A: For ticket information and sales please visit our ticket page. Crash Festival is not-for-profit. All money goes to making sure the festival can run next year, and everything over that is donated to the community centre and to help groups around the local community, and does not go to lining anyone's pockets.
Q: Can I buy tickets on the day?
A: There are a limited number of tickets available and once they're gone they're gone! We expect to sellout before the festival but if there are still tickets available they will be available on the gate at an increased rate. Anyone wishing to camp MUST BUY TICKETS IN ADVANCE - Camping tickets will not be available on the day.
Q: When are tickets available?
A: Tickets are on sale now!. Please click on the TICKETS link from the menu above.
Q: Can I bring my dog, cat, gerbil or elephant?
A: No, please leave ALL your pets at home. This is a family friendly festival, and also a farming area and the festival site is surrounded by sheep which may tempt the dog for a chase. And elephants make a huge mess!!
Q: What are the dates and times?
A: Crash 2012 is the 3rd and 4th August. The Main Arena is open from 7pm - 1am on Friday night, and 11:30am - 1am on Saturday. If you have bought a camping ticket the campsite is open from 2pm on friday and will close midday on sunday.
Q: Do I need to book for camping?
A: Yes. You can arrange this when you book your ticket.
Q: Can I bring a camper van or caravan?
A: Yes you can, but as we have limited space available, we can only accomodate a small number. These will be allocated on a first come first served basis, so get your camping tickets now and email us to book your caravan plot.
Q: Can I bring my own drink?
A: There will be a fully stocked bar and large beer tent in the main arena, so no alcohol is allowed in the main arena. You are welcome to bring (a small amount of) your own to the campsite. Please note, though, that we have a policy of not allowing glass onto the festival site under any circumstances!
Q: What if I lose my kids?
A: They will be directed by a steward to the site office. Please do not leave young children unattended in the kids area, it is not a creche. Please make sure your older children know where to find you.
Q: Are Veggies catered for?
A: Yes. There will be a variety of different catering vans so you wont go hungry.
Q: Is car parking free?
A: There is no charge to park at the festival. However there is limited parking space and there will be shuttle buses to Newtown and Welshpool, so please dont bring your car unless it is absolutely necessary.
Q: I kind'a need a lift.. How do I find out if this is possible?
A: You can register yourself on the Free Wheelers website. If you have any spare spaces in your car then again visit the Freewheelers website and offer up your services. Lift sharing aims to help the planet by reducing the amount of cars on our roads, and also helps us keep space available in the car park. Makes sense to us!
Q: What facilities are available for the disabled?
A: Please let us know your requirements, so that we can do our best to meet your needs. We have disabled access toilet facilities and convenient parking but we can also provide things like electric supply for charging wheelchairs if requested in advance.
Q: What about rubbish and recycling?
A: There will be plenty of recycling points around the festival. Please make good use of these and anything that cannot be recycled please dispose of carefully in the litter bins or take home with you. The festival is held on a farmer's field and sheep will be grazing here after you have left, so please leave nothing behind. Sheep do not eat cigarette butts!
Q: Will my mobile work?
A: Most networks work onsite but Orange and Vodafone have very good signal.
Q: Can I get into the Crash Festival for free?
A: You have two choices - you can either pay for a ticket or you can volunteer as a steward (we have a number of vacancies available). If you try and blag your way on for free please remember that EVERYONE who has organised this festival has given up many, many hours of their own time for nothing, and are not getting paid whatsoever. We keep the price of the ticket as low as possible this way. Please respect those who have worked hard to make this festival possible.
